| This sign indicates "made 10 February, 2005". The other section indicates "Donation by tour North Americans". This was the second half of the cement walkway to the children's school, majority funding by the generous owner's of "Free Spirit" who toured with us in Jan '05. The children were the ones behind these accolades in cement, as we were informed by the school teachers. |

| As we departed the Rios, literally thousands of buzzards were flying across the sky. Sadly, too far for photos, were several vertical spirals of birds as if inside a small tornado. Examining the Birds of Panama book, Gene discovered it is indeed a natural phenomenon every year at this time, when 1,000s of the buzzards gather in Bocas and a couple other locales in Panama for - yes, you guessed it, a mating ritual. Now we know why there never seem to be buzzards making out along the roads of Panama! |
